Certifications & onboarding checklists
Food-hygiene certification, alcohol service, allergen training — all tracked, reminded and audit-ready. Plus onboarding templates so new hires start in a structured way.
Certifications
Each team member carries a list of certifications — first aid, food-hygiene briefing, sommelier diploma, alcohol license. Each entry has an issue date, an expiry date and an optional PDF copy.
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kind | string | — | — | Free-form type. Onboard ships a default list of common German certifications. |
| issued_at / expires_at | date | — | — | When expires_at moves within 30 days, the member shows up on the compliance dashboard. |
| document_url | string | — | — | Optional storage link to the proof. Visible only to the member and admins/managers. |
Required certifications per location/role
Admins can define required certifications: "At Location A every server needs a hygiene briefing." Members without a required certification cannot be assigned to matching shifts — the shift planner blocks the assignment with a clear message.
Onboarding checklists
A single step in a structured ramp-up — e.g. "Learn the close-down sequence", "Walk the wine list", "Run a reservation cycle at the pass". Each task carries a status, an owner and an optional due date.
Tasks come either from a template (one per role — service, kitchen, host) or get added ad-hoc. Managers see a progress indicator per new hire.
Employee documents
Contracts, health certificates, registration confirmations — uploadable directly in the employee profile. Storage is encrypted; access is limited to admins and the employee themselves. On exit, documents can be archived or GDPR-deleted.
Skill tags
On top of formal certifications you can attach free-form skill tags — "speaks Italian", "vegan specialist", "can run the cocktail bar". The shift planner uses them as a filter when a particular service needs particular skills.
