Adding your first restaurant
Create a restaurant location with the address, opening hours and capacity that the rest of DineOS uses to do its job.
Inside a workspace you can host as many restaurants as your plan allows. Each restaurant has its own opening hours, capacity, floor plan, team, and integrations. The setup form is short on purpose — you can refine details later from Restaurant → Settings.
Basics
- 1
Name and address
Use the public-facing name and full street address. The address is displayed on the booking page and in confirmation emails, and is used to geolocate the restaurant for the widget's location detection. The country derived from the address determines the default Stripe-Tax behaviour. - 2
Opening hours
Set hours per day of week. You can split a day into multiple service windows (e.g. lunch 12:00–14:30, dinner 18:00–22:30) — each window is treated as an independent service in reports. - 3
Capacity
Enter the total seated capacity. This is a soft cap — DineOS will warn before you exceed it but will not block walk-ins. Per-section caps can be set later in the floor plan editor. - 4
Default reservation length
Set the default duration for a reservation (e.g. 90 minutes for lunch, 120 for dinner). This drives the turn-time colors on the live floor plan.
Floor plan comes next
Once the restaurant exists, head to the floor plan editor to lay out tables and sections. Reservations cannot be assigned to tables until the floor plan has at least one table.
Multi-location groups
For groups, repeat this for each location. Staff, guest CRM and reports can be scoped to a single restaurant or rolled up across the workspace, depending on the role of the team member viewing them. Custom roles on the Enterprise plan let you give a Regional Manager access to a subset of restaurants.
