The team app
The same Onboard app, a different surface: signed in as staff or manager, you get the tools for service — from the check-in board to time tracking.
The app detects the account type at login: employees start on "Today" with shifts, chat and the voucher scanner; managers additionally get reservations, tables, reports and settings. Module visibility follows the same module assignment as on the web.
The surfaces at a glance
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reservations | area | — | — | Day list and detail view, status changes (confirmed, seated, completed, no-show), creating bookings, guest callbacks. |
| Check-in board | area | — | — | The host mode for service: scan the guest’s QR code or search manually, a board of all expected arrivals, one tap to check in. |
| Tables & floor plan | area | — | — | Live table status plus the floor-plan editor per section — create, position and combine tables, right from the tablet. |
| Shifts & time tracking | area | — | — | Personal schedule, swap requests, clock in/out with breaks — in sync with the shifts module on the web. |
| Chat | area | — | — | Team chat with groups, mentions, reactions, polls and voice messages — push included. |
| Vouchers & tickets | area | — | — | The scanner for QR redemption — vouchers (partial too) and tickets, with instant result feedback. |
| Reports (managers) | area | — | — | The daily KPIs from the reports module in compact form. |
| Knowledge & recipes | area | — | — | The knowledge base for lookups at the pass — SOPs, allergens, recipes. |
| Neo (AI assistant) | area | — | — | The team assistant as a floating button: ask questions, create reservations, filter lists. Neo adapts its suggestions to the role — staff see different quick actions than managers. |
The app tells Neo which surface it is running on (staff app or manager view). His suggestions are therefore constrained to actions actually possible on that surface with that role.
iPad
The app fully supports iPad (portrait and landscape). In practice the host-stand iPad is the most common setup: check-in board and floor plan in landscape, while managers use the same app on iPhone on the go.
Signing in
Team members are invited in the web backoffice and sign in to the app with an email login code — no password. Google and Apple sign-in work here too, as long as the email matches the invited account.
